The LLTM 2007 is history and it was a blast!
I had a great time organizing it and I thank you all for your enthusiasm and for following my tight schedule.
What I would like to start here is a collection of feedback from those who participated, so that I but mainly Bas can even improve the experience for next year.
You already did a good job at praising me on the event so now this thread is not meant for further expressions of gratitude but for honest, constructive positive and negative feedback on this year´s LockOn Competition.
Last year I asked around mainly amongst participants from my own squad what they had liked and disliked and what they wanted to see this year.
Most of the requested features I managed to implement this year, like for example team vs. team network missions, close-to-real mission daytimes etc.

I´m going to start off right away myself:
- The schedule on Friday was too tight. For next year, it would be better to have only 6 events similar to those of this year instead of 7. So it would be better to have only 2 events on Friday, then 3 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.

Please give your feedback and just use either German or English language, whatever is more convenient for you.
And please, do not post if you haven´t been there yourself, this is a [u36o]feedback[/u36o] thread!

Although the schedule was a bit tight, I still had a very good time being shot down

I have one comment about the competition though, which I will address myself next year, but might be interesting for you as well.

This year's dogfight competition was a so-called 'single-elimination tournament', which means that if you loose the first round, you're out.
The result was that after 5 minutes, most of the rookies (including the entire DFDT) were out, and had the rest of the evening off.

If we have enough participants next year (16), I'll try to create a 'double-elimination tournament'.
This setup uses a winner and loser bracket, so everyone flies at least two rounds, and even if you loose in the first round, you can still win the competition, by winning every following round in the loser bracket.

For the rest I don't have any more comments, I like the setup, and will try to continue it next year.

I have also opened a general feedback topic on the main LLTM forum, so if anyone has any comments concerning the LLTM in general, please post them there.

Schwierigkeitsgrad:

- LLTM2006: War der Schwierigkeitsgrad nicht so hoch. Ich als "ernsthafter Anfänger" hatte aber dennoch an vielen Fronten gleichzeitig zu kämpfen ( nicht nur mein Spezial-Gebiet A10 A-G, sondern auch alles mögliche andere: BVR, Aerobatics, etc....). Für den Anfang war es fordernd genug!!!

- LLTM2007: Schwierigkeitsgrad war deutlich angehoben. Ich habe ja nun viel trainiert seit dem letzten Mal, wusste also (fast) immer um was es eigentlich gerade geht. Problem aber: Wir JaBoGs fliegen einigermaßen anspruchsvoll im Training, aber die anderen Teilnehmer nicht (Stichwort von Joe Kurr : so-called 'single-elimination tournament')



- Technische Seite: Klasse war, dass das Missions-Design gut war, so dass die Missionen galtt liefen. Dass es ein paar Lags waren (Airrace) ist verschmerzbar. Bei 1 von 7 Missionen ein schwierig zu handhabendes Ruckeln ist eine gute Quote!!! ("Wo gehoblet wird fallen Späne!")

- Missions-Design: Radar-Client super geniale Sache (auch wenn es keiner so richtig machen wollte). Sollte UNBEDINGT wiederholt werden!!!!!


- Zeitplan: Freitag war es SEHR eng gesteckt (aber BESSER als Langeweile!!!!)
... auch beim Dogfight am Samstag, war es recht eng, denn ich musste das Finale mit Exter am Sonntag fliegen, während ich eigentlich schon DRINGEND auf dem Flugshow-Apron erwartet wurde...


- Mixed Missions: GENIALE Idee (selbst wenn die Teams 2x nicht gut verteilt waren), denn -trotz Schwierigkeiten- war es super mal den Laden "auf-zu-mischen" (Tiger-Spirit = auch mal mit "anderen" fliegen )!!!!!!!


UND was wir JaBoGs (für das nächste LLTM) aus den mixed Missions lernen können: Unsere Funk-Codes waren nicht gerad verständlich. Das muss besser gehen, Bsp: Wir arbeiten tag-täglich mit VAD Charts, aber nicht alle anderen Piloten wussten immer gleich wie es vom Apron denn zur RWY geht...

here are some of my thoughts and impressions:

in my oppinion the level of competition should stay @ the most realistic level! it is the official Europeans
FlightSimChampionship and i think it is nice to see the LockOn section is improving its proffesionality year
by year. Well i couldn t take part on the challenge on my own, but i think it is good to bring and keep
it to an upper level! Look to the Falcon Pilots!
Rulez are rulez and i think everybody should have known better before!)

Well as i recognized, the timeframe, was really to tight this year!
In 2006 the Lomac pilots got more time to connect to each other and communicate..i missed that all together
feeling from past year. Caused by the black cotton behind Woodstock, we had been an extra part of the event.
The public one! We managed great but i missed that connection with the other both communities.

that 2 vs. 2 Gunzo is a really good idea for next year..maybee i can help with some other missions for
next years competition too


i think it whould be great, if we can implement an server for the hyperlobby, where the lltm participants
build the red team and the other pilots, those from the lobby the blue team..

Ich fand die ganzen Events recht interessant und spannend. Am Donnerstag anzureisen hat sich als eine sehr gute Entscheidung herausgestellt. So konnte ich in Ruhe alles aufbauen und mir einen für den Zeitpunkt guten Platz finden. Bis auf meine VISTA Probleme hatte ich sonst keine Probs mit der Hardware. Wäre sonst nicht so stressig am Freitag. Wurde gerade so fertig vor den ersten Wettbewerben.

Ich fand es sonst teilweise zu stressig. Der Freitag hatte es in sich. Wir sind zwischen PC, Essen und Briefing ja fast gehetzt:-) Wollte man auf die Toillete oder man hatte PC Probs geriet man arg in Zeitprobleme. Ich musste auch 2 Kopfschmerztabletten nehmen und überlegte am Freitag Pause zu machen da ich schon viereckige Augen hatte:-) smile. Insgesamt habe ich an dem Tag über 15Std am PC verbracht. Samstag war es viel besser und ebenfalls Sonntag.

Ingesamt kann ich und will ich gar nicht meckern. Eher vielleicht etwas vorschlagen. Ich finde es immer noch klasse wie woody alles vorbereitet hat! Nochmal danke...

Nochmal paar allg. Punkte...

- ich hatte meinen PC wie auch MightyM an wirklich einem blöden Platz. Der ganze hintere Teil der Halle musste immer an uns vorbei. Und die trampelten teilweise echt rum. Der ganze Bildschirm wackelte und konnte sich teilweise nur schwer konzenrieren. Woody hatte ein paar Hindernisse aufgestellt aber viele können oder wollen nicht lesen:-) Vielleicht könnte man den gang am Rand herrichten.

- Auch sollte man die Sitzpositionen wegen TrackIR bedenken. Man strahlt oft das andere TrackIR an.

- Auch wenn ich die Events klasse fand, fehlte mir die Zeit um ein wenig mit den anderen zu reden. Man hat es immer schnell zwischendurch erledigt. Vielleicht ein event weniger? Ich denke da wird aber jeder anders denken.

- die Briefings von woody fand ich klasse. Auch das wir gelost haben. Das könnte man behalten.

- Teileweise hat es sehr geruckelt und hat mich den Sieg beim Airrace gelostet:-) Aber dafür kann wohl keiner etwas. Vielleicht können wir es nächstes mal verbessern...

- Ich fand die Idee den ATC einzusetzen auch klasse.

Wenn mir nochwas einfällt werde ich es hier posten.
