In preparation for this year's LLTM from April 2nd to 5th in Ahaus, I have begun drafting a concept and schedule for this year's LockOn Competition, taking into account feedback from the previous years' events.

One of the major requests was more free time and a less packed mission schedule.
Therefore, I have decided to keep Saturday Evening free for beer and socializing.
Futhermore, the combat missions will no longer consist of multiple rounds, but only one single sortie. This will leave ample time for briefing and team tactics discussion before the flight.
The dogfight matches will no longer be "best of three", but only one single round, making for a shorter dogfight tournament.
Nevertheless, there will be enough competition events offered for those who like to indulge in a full weekend of LockOn flying. As you might know from the past, you do not need to participate in all those events to be successful in the overall competition. Just make sure you are punctually to join the briefings of those events you want to participate in, on time.
Especially the new "single sortie" mode for combat missions should provide for less stress than we experienced in the last years during a 3-hour mission time block .

This preliminary schedule will most probably change after coordination to incorporate the time requirements of the Falcon4 and IL2 competitions regarding food and briefing room times.
If necessary, one of the combat missions will be dumped.

LLTM2009 LockOn Competition Manager

Hi Woody,

Good to see you're improving the competition again!

I have a suggestion for one of the evening missions, which might give some interesting actions.
I was thinking about combining the Nighttime BVR with a SEAD, and put the mission start just after sunset.
This way there will still be some light for the mud-movers to find their targets, but as it fades, the fighters are more and more dependant on their ground controllers.
The controllers can only use SAM radars, which are being targeted by the SEAD flight.
So each time a SAM site is taken out, this creates a blind spot on the controller's radar screen.
Aim of the mission is to gain air superiority over the front, by having at least one more aircraft in the area than the opponent, for a predetermined amount of time.
Blinding the opponent's controller is not essential for winning this mission, but as it gets darker might give an advantage.

Teams might be allowed to do only one part of the mission (i.e. BVR / SEAD), but do so at their own risk.
Points might be given for each downed aircraft, SAM radar destroyed, and air superiority.

Hi Bas, nice ideas!

I was thinking along something like that for the Mixed SEAD Mission. That would enable us having two events, Mixed SEAD and BVR Night, with a GCI controller, a feature I think people liked.
In case we have to scratch one of the Combat missions, I guess I will combine features and have the Mixed SEAD at night.

The LLTM2009 is open for participant registration. Don´t wait too long, since the event is limited to around 120-150 slots and there are already around 60 registrations today!

Das Anmeldeformular für's LLTM2009 ist online. Wartet nicht zu lange, da das Event auf ca. 120-150 Teilnehmer begrenzt ist, und sich bis heute schon ca. 60 Piloten angemeldet haben!

Hallo!
Wie ihr schon auf LLTM Webseite gelesen haben, ich organisiere dieses Jahr in Ahaus ein PITBUILDER CONTEST. Die Teilnehmer entscheiden demokratisch mit hilfe einen Fragebogen (Beispiel: https://www.sebuga.de/pitbuildercontest09.pdf ) welches mitgebrachtes Flight Sim Pit/Gerät am interessantesten ist.
Es geht nicht nur um gesamte Konstruktionen, sondern auch selbstgemachte Einzelteile werden bewertet. Zum Beispiel ich finde, dass Touch Screen Profil von Exter, ein wichtiges Teil eines Pits ist, das von vielen mit Begeisterung benutzt wird. Usw..

Hört sich gut an Bin schon auf die Vorschläge gespannt. Ich habe etwas von Ende März gelesen...also bis zum 31.03. kann etwas zu dir geschickt werden, richtig? Warum brauchst vorher Fotos? Werden diese ausgesdruckt?

DIese werden dann in Ahaus unter Teilnhemern ausgehändigt, ausgefüllt, wieder gesammlet, Punkte gezählt und so den Gewinner ermittelt!

Gleich mal angeschaut, diesmal werde ich vorerst Lomac League installieren.
Nur noch eine Frage dazu gibt es eine Möglichkeit den mod nachher wieder zu deinstallieren und ich mein altes Lockon wieder habe mit allen Einstellungen und so?
Das letzt mal musste ich Lockon komplett neu installieren....
Oder muss ich es einfach nochmal installieren unter einer anderen Patention?

Das einfachste ist, du kopierst deinen LockOn-Folder (C:Programme/LockOn/...) und nennst die Kopie "LO-original" oder so ähnlich. LockOn startet immer die Installation die im Ordner "LockOn" liegt. Durch umbenennen der Ordner kannst du dann wählen welche Installation gestartet werden soll. Auf der Kopie installierst du dann den Mod. Später kannst du das Verzeichnis dann einfach löschen.
Alternativ zum umbennenen des Verzeichnisses kannst du natürlich auch die Ausführungsbedingungen (Pfad) der .exe-Verknüpfung(en) auf deinem Desktop ändern.
