Hi Peter,
When it comes to multi-monitor gaming, the game itself has to be created in a way that can utilize it. Unfortunately, not many games are written this way. I believe (not an owner myself) that the Matrox Parhelia card along with its Apptimizer utility has been able to trick some games into multi-monitor resolutions. Because some games listed on their web site (
https://www.matrox.com/mga/3d_gaming/surrgame.cfm) I was unable to get working. on my system. (ex: The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind) My Nvidia based system can play the games shown on my site, but not very well (performance wise) And I had to use such low resolutions for them (640x480-16, 800x600-16,) and all bells & whistles turned off. When you blow that size up to my monitors 48" x 12" screen just 24" from your face, the game kind-a resembled the look of original Nintendo. (very disappointing.....
The reason I mention this is- you mention LockOn having more graphic requirements than the Parhelia card can handle. I agree that the Matrox card seemed low on ability to me on paper, But I can't recall ever hearing of anyone that has one complaining about their Parhelia cards. (and I know a place where there are a-lot of owners)

I appreciated the offer of the game for trial. (and it was the thought that counted)But, I went ahead and downloaded the Demo for that.238 Mb-Whew! even on broadband it took over an hour and a half.Unfortunately, I was not able to get the game above 1280x1024-32 (1 screenonly)The game would run in "windowed mode", which was promising. But when I adj. the config file, the game just wouldn't display-it was stillrunningjust nothing on the screen.Plus-even if I was able to get it across all 3, 800x600-16 @ 2400x600-16with all the extras turned off would probably be the best I could I have achieved anyway.Sorry, and good luck.....JB----- Original Message
[b0rj] klingt nicht so erfolgversprechend also....
